Sandy Fogel, MD, FACS
Dr. Sandy Fogel is currently the NSQIP Surgeon Champion, Surgical Quality Officer, Associate Program Director in General Surgery, and Medical Director of OR Services at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
After completing his residency, Dr. Fogel moved to Baltimore, where he joined the staff at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for 15 years. That was followed by 9 years at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he eventually became Associate Chair.
After 24 years in Maryland, he moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where he is also currently a Professor of Surgery with clinical interests in colo-rectal surgery, especially inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Sandy Fogel obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis prior to obtaining his doctoral degree from the Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
